The 2010 NBA Champions*

Definitely have been letting you tightass Laker fans sit on your “victory” from last week. For those of you that are desperate enough to actual enjoy the “win”, I’d like you to become a little bit more familiar with the following symbol:

Yes, it’s an asterisk.

I congratulated a whole lot of you Laker fans after the game, but while doing so I was amazed at how pumped and cocky you guys were about the outcome. Kinda disturbing, considering how much some of you people take pride in your “NBA I.Q.”.

Let’s not make a bigger deal than it is, but let’s definitely NOT ignore the facts surrounding Game 7. There’s a thin line between being bitter and being real. I sure do hope that you Laker fans can own up to the reality of what the “win” really means……but more importantly, what it doesn’t.

This Is It…….Game 7

June 17, 2010 Dave E. Gold 1 comment

Wow. This is what it comes down to guys. What we’ve all been waiting for, Game 7 of the NBA Finals. It’s almost uncanny. Yeah, the Celtics don’t have their starting center…..so what!? No excuses, Celtics have a deep ass bench in Wallace and Davis. This game is going to come down to heart, trust and teamwork. Lucky for Boston fans, the Lakers always seem to run out of all three. Hoping for a classic.

This video here pretty much sums up the whole Laker fan base……..

“I Just Felt Like A Beast”

Glen “Big Baby” Davis, once again, comes through for the Celtics. Along with Nate Robinson (12pts.) running point for Boston, Davis helped carve up the Lakers down the stretch of Game 4 for a 96-89 victory. Talk about an unlikely hero, at least for this crucial of a game. The man stands 6’9 289 lbs. and has been banging bodies with men 6’10 and above such as Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol. Most of whom, we can safely assume, are somewhat more athletic than Big Baby. Well, last nigh Davis OWNED Lamar Odom underneath the net scoring 4 of 5 beneath the net and pulling down 4 offensive rebounds. And I KNOW y’all saw Baby get a couple of steps on Odom and drive around him for the bucket, amazing!Yahoo!Sports writer, Dan Wetzel, has a great article posted up discussing Lamar Odom’s reluctance to fill the void left by Andrew Bynum. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=ApSfzmjrzgkU_qccURVvEHw5nYcB?slug=dw-odomlakers061010 Wetzel reported that Odom repeated the phrase “as a team” nearly two dozen times, when asked about how to step up, make adjustments and save the Lakers from being defeated in this series. Lamar made it obvious that he does not want the pressure or burden of carrying this team to victory against Boston. So it looks like both teams’ true colors are starting to show. The Boston Celtics are  battle tested warriors,  gritty champions who seem to be more than willing to die for a win. The Lakers on the other hand, can’t seem to adjust to the guerrilla tactics being used by Boston and it’s wearing them down physically and mentally. Seems Big Baby has put some fear in the heart of Lamar Odom. Sorry Laker fans, but Kobe is only one man and to win a championship against this Boston team, you’re going to need 5 warriors on the floor every night and a bench full of heart.

Some shout outs to a couple of people, first off my friend and co-writer Phillip Barnett for being able to see past Glen’s goofy antics and see him for the BEAST that he is. Phil posted up the following article a few months ago on Glen Davis, praising his ability to step up his game when called upon. http://mommatheregoesthatman.com/2010/04/22/beasts-we-love-glen-davis/

And a special shout out to my lovely and beautiful girlfriend who has been a Glen “Big Baby” fan since the 2008 season and has since enjoyed his energy, heart and overall funny persona. And if I’m not mistaken, she is currently rocking her #11 jersey on all her default photos for all her social networking sites. God I love this game!

TOP 10 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE NBA FINALS

10.) The refs.

9.) Boston is not swinging the ball enough.

8.) Nate Robinson tweeting THIS photo only a few hours after the disappointing loss. smDh.

7.) Allen drops eight 3′s one night……and then goes 0-8 the next.

6.) I hate that I have so much respect for Fisher off the court but LOATHE him when he’s on the court.

5.) Pau Gasol and Derek Fisher, can you stop the fucking flopping for just one minute? Seriously. It’s pathetic and you not only bring shame to yourselves but to the entire league. Don’t tarnish your wins with dramatic theatrics.

4.) Ron Artest. Can’t stand his fake “tough guy” swag and even more annoying is his less than authentic “I’m going to pretend I’m crazy so people don’t f**k with me” act. Quickly becoming the most overrated player in the league.

3.) Paul Pierce is a zombie.

2.) The Celtics are fouling like a bunch of bitches in the paint. Slam both f**king hands down on their bodies!!!!! Enough with the 3 pt. plays already.

1.) Can’t stand the fact that this is Boston’s series to lose and they just might do that if they keep up this bullshit.  Lakers threw everything but the kitchen sink at Boston and only won by 7. L.A. had 4 of their starting 5 in double figures, with Bynum right there at 9 pts. They also lead in blocks and rebounds, along with a  6 to 2 ratio in the And 1 department. It’s clear, even to the simplest of minds, that the L.A. Lakers are the inferior team and the outcome of this series sits solely on the appetite of the Boston Celtics. And even though I’m pissed at my squad, I can’t help but imagine how much it sucks to be a Laker fan right now. Knowing that it’s not even relevant how well your team plays but its about whether or not Boston decides to show up that day. The fact that the other team will decide whether you wear rings this year or not…….has gotta suck ass.
